Responsibilities:

• Develops formulas, processes and methods for solution of technical problems
• Analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties
• Develops, implements and maintains a timely and effective evaluation system to ensure products meet desired specifications
• Conducts research to develop and improve products
• Prepares technical papers and reports
• Prepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products and tests
• Provides assistance to sales staff for interpretation of sales order applications, application design, technical drawings/blueprints and product compatibility to reduce customer complaints resulting from misapplication of products
• Work closely with vendors and purchasing in the sourcing of products
• Maintains records of project progress and expenditures, research finding and test results

Experience:

• 5+ years of Polymer experience ideally with blown plastic film
• Experience conducting research in a laboratory setting
• Prior supervisory skills

Background/Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or closely related field is required, minor degree in Organic Chemistry a plus
• Background in Polymer Chemistry and Catalysis
• Knowledge of polymer fabrication and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
