Mayco is currently seeking a Ceramic Engineer to join the Mayco team. This position will work on site. This position will be part of a 3-person team of material engineers working to develop new products, improve, and maintaining product integrity by performing quality control tests. This position will develop and maintain quality product standards on existing and new products materials. The team of engineers collaborate to perform the following functions and tasks.
Responsibilities
Work with bill of material system to update instructions and materials.
Train production staff on new or updated work instructions and monitor compliance
Develop and implement product improvements
Identify opportunities for improvement in existing products and control systems
Work with Business Development group for new product testing and plant introduction
Assist in developing qualification testing for new or modified products
Generate new product formula sheets
Work closely with Lab Technicians to ensure accurate and precise testing
Generate reports for customers on defects and material performance
Utilize facility analytical equipment to the best of its ability
Maintain safe laboratory habits and work environment
Develop and maintain an awareness of innovations in technology, which might be adapted to manufacturing operations.
Assist in the development of improved procedures for new product introduction.
Work with outside vendors for compliance testing and the generation of safety data sheets.

Education & Additional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Ceramic Engineering
Preferably 2 years in a Ceramic or Materials Engineering role in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in coatings
The successful candidate must display high-level problem-solving abilities
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Preferably some experience with ceramic arts and glazes
