Our Plumbing Designer will work in a hybrid role within our Midwest Division, located in Hopkins, MN. The Plumbing Designer at SitelogIQ works directly with a Mechanical Engineer to create design and construction documents that meet the design intent, budget, and schedule of the client.
Plumbing Designer Responsibilities
Prepare plumbing and fire protection drawings and specifications based on verbal direction and mark-ups with minimal oversite.
Perform all types of calculations required to design systems, including sizing of source equipment and distribution systems. (i.e.: Booster Pumps, Fire Pumps, Water Heating Equipment, Circulator Pumps, Storm/Sanitary Pumps, Grease Interceptors, Oil/Sand Separators, Storm drainage, Sanitary Waste and Vent, Domestic Water, Natural Gas, etc.)
Process shop drawings and review submittals
Assist with developing and maintaining standard plumbing and fire protection details.
Have a detailed knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independently
Coordinate the plumbing and fire protection scope of work and specification development with other building systems.
Keep abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry
Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions
Participate in coordination meetings with owners, architects and other consultants.
Plumbing Designer Qualifications
Technical Degree or Equivalent Experience with 7+ years of experience
A strong communicator, collaborative, detail oriented and organized
Proficient with Revit software and Microsoft Office Suite
