The City of Bothell is looking for an adaptable and effective decision maker and leader to manage the transportation planning, engineering, and traffic operations for the Public Works Department. This individual will play a major role in developing transportation infrastructure for a growing, diverse community.
What will this person do?
Independently develop and implements local transportation plans such as the upcoming transportation element update of the City’s Imagine Bothell Comprehensive Plan.
Plan, organize, coordinate and oversee the operation of city street signals, lighting, pavement markings and communication equipment for the city.
Supervise assigned staff and assigned workload.
Manage non-motorized programs and the Transportation Management Demand (TDM) program.
Coordinate with regional agencies. Lead/support the effort to obtain transportation grants.
What does this person need to be successful?
A bachelor's degree in engineering, urban planning or a related field.
7 years of public sector transportation planning experience.
Supervisory or leadership experience.
Registration as a professional civil engineer in Washington State is preferred, but not required.
Takes responsibility for achieving goals and achieving quality results.
Effectively adjusts to changes in work processes and environment and alters behavior to align with evolving situations.
Openly receives new ideas and accepts other perspectives.
Clearly conveys information and ideas through a variety of communication modes.
