Placer County Water Agency encompasses the entire, 1,500-square-mile boundary of Placer County, ranging from the rim of the Sacramento Valley on the west to the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe on the east.  The Agency is headquartered in Auburn and carries out a broad range of responsibilities including water resource planning and management, retail and wholesale supply of irrigation water and drinking water, production of hydroelectric power and watershed stewardship across Placer County.  We are seeking talented candidates to join our team for the position of:

HYDRO ENGINEER II (ELECTRICAL)

$126,089 - $160,929 annually, DOQ, plus excellent benefits

HYDRO ENGINEER I (ELECTRICAL)

$98,739 - $126,025 annually, DOQ, plus excellent benefits

PCWA is seeking a dynamic individual to perform the full range of electrical engineering maintenance and design duties in support of the Agency’s multi-purpose Middle Fork American River Hydroelectric Project.  The incumbent will provide electrical engineering expertise while serving in a project lead capacity for the maintenance, repair, modification and replacement of electrical, electronic, controls and communication equipment and oversee Project compliance with WECC and NERC Standards.  This position will work out of the Power System offices in Foresthill, CA.  This position will be filled at either the Engineer II or I level based on candidate qualifications.

Our ideal candidate for the Engineer II level will possess four years of increasingly responsible electrical engineering experience in hydroelectric generation and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a power emphasis; registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California is desirable.  Our ideal candidate for the Engineer I level will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and certification as an EIT in the State of California and two years of engineering experience in hydroelectric generation facilities is desirable.  Visit our website for detailed recruitment information and to complete the on-line application: www.pcwa.net.
