The Data Science Institute in the Physical Sciences Division at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Assistant Clinical Professor to teach in its Master of Science in Analytics program (MScA). This full-time, benefits-eligible appointment is for an initial term of up to five years, with possibility of renewal. This is a teaching position with no research responsibilities, including some administrative duties. The position is expected to begin in the 2022-2023 academic year.
The person holding this position must be able to teach at least two of the following courses: Statistical Analysis, Advanced Linear Algebra, Python for Analytics, Data Mining Principles, Time Series, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Linear/Non-Linear Models, Big Data Platforms, Financial Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Health Analytics, Leadership and Consulting for Data Science. Depending on background and interests, the person holding this position may also be asked to teach other classes in the MScA program.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A PhD in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other closely related field, and at least 5 years of professional experience.
- Or an MS/MBA with at least 10 years of professional experience in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science Mathematics, or other closely related field.
Preferred qualifications:
- Five years of teaching experience either within a university (such as Adjunct, Lecturer, or Instructional Professor) or corporate training environment for professional education.
