Reporting to the Director of Global Quality, the Senior Manager provides a core process improvement and process development service to the Laboratory as a whole. They will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining organization-wide process improvement, development and process quality control standards, policies and procedures. The Senior Manager of Global Quality will be expected to lead change in the organization, and as such must be confident and capable, with proven abilities to build effective organizational systems. Develops Laboratory-wide strategies to improve process efficiency, enhance risk mitigation and audit internal processes. Teams reporting directly to them include Process Quality Control and Process Improvement Specialist(s). The incumbent must effectively lead an organization that is adjusting and adapting to significant organizational growth, potential globalization, increasing industry scrutiny, and expanding complexity. Develop and drive a work culture fostering a highly ethical environment grounded in credibility and trust.

Responsibilities:

Develop a long-term Process Development and Improvement Strategy, focused on assuring quality, and in collaboration with others in the organization.
Responsible to ensure that all quality data sources are routinely reviewed and acted upon in a timely fashion. Develop and implement continued improvements in systems to reduce complexity, improve effectiveness, efficiencies and productivity and insure sustainability and globalization.
Co-lead the implementation of quality and regulatory compliance software systems
Develop and ensure a high quality process development and improvement policy is propagated, understood and implemented organization-wide. Provide strategic leadership in policy setting.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or a Life Science; MD/Doctorate preferred. 10+ years applicable work experience required.
Functional management/leadership experience in a large pharmaceutical or biotechnology operation
Proven ability to lead, develop, train and mentor diverse teams.
Research regulatory compliance experience preferred.
Solid financial background and experience with budgeting is required.
Proven track record of effective leadership with outstanding results creating a positive work environment with emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
Grows relationships with key organizational influencers and customers by building credibility and trust.
Extensive experience with change management in multi-site, complex environment
Incumbent must have strong interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills to work in a high profile environment requiring discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy.
Advanced interpersonal skills sufficient for developing complex, dynamic relationship with a diverse variety of individuals representing a broad cross section of cultures, disciplines and levels of sophistications.
Advanced verbal and written skills sufficient to communicate with senior leaders in a variety of partner institutions.
Demonstrated successful experience in formulating, implementing and evaluating complex plans and programs.
Ability to support important decisions carrying large financial consequences, often under some pressure and tight time deadlines.
Demonstrated success at managing multiple projects with tight deadlines to successful completion.
Ability to formulate, analyze and evaluate complex plans and programs.
Leadership skills which include interpersonal relationship skills sufficient to allow incumbent to function as an effective leader for subordinates and/or co-workers and to allow incumbent to be fully aware of interpersonal and organizational implications that accompany business relationships. Proven abilities to effectively lead change and people.
Knowledge of leadership skills and techniques with demonstrated ability to motivate and lead others toward the accomplishment of individual and shared objectives including experience in planning, prioritizing, executing/delivering and assigning work; training staff across the organization; and monitoring their daily performance.
Ability to travel up to 20%
