We are growing and need you on the A/E team! HFS is seeking a creative, highly talented Mechanical Engineer for production of construction documents and engineering studies for government, healthcare, educational and commercial clients. Tasks include: 

• Prepare studies, specifications, proposals, and estimates
• Write technical specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents and reports
• Attend design review and construction meetings with customers
• Conduct site visits and field QA/QC and system deficiency reviews
• Coordination with design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis
• Flexibility, if called upon, to act as project manager on various other projects when needed outside of your expertise

• BSME or equivalent degree from an ABET accredited university
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
• 5+ years recent experience in ME infrastructure design for new facility layout and existing facility renovation: utility mechanical engineering (steam/condensate, water treatment, cooling water, compressed air, natural gas), process and utility piping design, process and facility plumbing systems (drains, potable water, safety showers), refrigeration, and facility HVAC
• Good knowledge and understanding of NFPA, ASHRAE and other mechanical code standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with a focus on results
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
• Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially as they relate to engineering and construction.
• Federal, healthcare facility and LEED experience a plus
