We are recruiting at the Professional Engineer or Principal Engineer level.
Title and salary will depend on qualifications.
Basic Responsibilities Position supports the operations and maintenance of existing PUD power generation facilities including 5-hydroelectric powerplants and other renewable generation and storage projects in development. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (WECC/NERC/FERC) and works in a powerplant environment to trouble-shoot emergent operational or electrical issues and support the design of maintenance and capital projects related to electrical engineering.
Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering; and,
Six (6) years related engineering experience, with two (2) of those years as a Lead or Project Engineer; and,
*Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for this job level, “Professional Engineer”.
Ten (10) years directly related engineering experience, five (5) of which are performed at an electric or water utility; and,
*Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for this job level, “Engineer”.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
Nine (9) years of progressive applicable engineering experience, three (3) years of which are in a project engineer/lead engineer capacity in the electric or water utility engineering field.
Washington State Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a utility setting including supporting the operations and maintenance of bulk electrical equipment. Experience working with switchgear, generators, transformers, and well as SCADA and process control preferred. Ideal candidate is self-directed, detail oriented, has worked in an operational/industrial environment.
