The City of Rochester, MN Public Works Department operates and maintains the infrastructure required to convey and treat the City of Rochester's wastewater at the Water Reclamation Plant. The Sanitary Collection Systems Supervisor is a supervisory and technical position engaged in the planning, construction, maintenance, and logistics related to the sanitary sewer system. Typical job duties may include, but are not limited to: leading, managing and directing the work of assigned employees; serving as the City's sanitary system subject-matter expert; coordinating the efforts of external consultants and City employees/departments performing sanitary system work through effective communication, budget management, and project planning; and working effectively as part of the Water Reclamation Plant leadership team.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field and at least four years of experience in the design or the operations and maintenance of municipal sanitary or storm sewer systems. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may also be considered. A valid driver’s license is also required.
An individual selected for this position who does not possess a MN Class C Sewer System Operator licensure or a Class A Sewer System Operator licensure at the time of hire must achieve these requirements within the specified timelines as a condition of continued employment. A MN Class C Sewer System Operator licensure will be required within one year, and within four years of hire a MN Class A Sewer System Operator licensure.
Priority consideration will be provided to applications submitted by March 4, 2021.
