ASSOCIATE ENGINEER - CIVIL (PE Required - a 2.5% differential applies) Salary: $10,290.80 - $13,175.07 Monthly Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 01240-E Location: CA, CA Department: Dam Safety and Capital Delivery Closing: 2/15/2021 11:59 PM Pacific Description Pacheco Project Delivery Unit (Position Code 0140) Overview:Are you a Civil Engineer with experience as a project manager? The Associate Civil Engineer shall act in the role of a Project Manager to direct, oversee, participate in the work of professional civil engineering staff to plan, design, prepare plans, specifications and estimate, administer construction contracts, manage construction contracts, prepare Operation & Maintenance guidelines, interface with communities, collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders, and prepare Board Agenda Items, for the Cross Valley Pipeline Extension Project, the Coyote Creek Chillers Project, conveyance components of the Pacheco Reservoir Expansion Project, and other Capital projects. Associate Civil Engineer shall perform complex professional engineering work as a staff specialist including but not limited to hydraulic modeling and analysis, transient analysis, surge analysis, soil-pipe interaction, and general civil areas for specific functions; and/or may serve in a supervisory capacity as a section or team leader; prepare Request for Proposals; manage and oversee consultants' products and contracts; prepare project plans & work plans; prepare and monitor budget; supervise and mentor assistant engineers; supervise in-house production of plans/specifications and bid package; prepare draft Board Items; manage and oversee or serve as a resource or as a project team leader/member on the Cross Valley Pipeline Extension Project, the Coyote Creek Chillers Project, conveyance components of the Pacheco Reservoir Expansion Project, and other Capital projects as assigned; supervise and/or participate in project initiation, project management planning, change management, control, and closeout procedures; and perform related work as assigned. In addition, this position will ensure work quality and adherence to QEMS processes/procedures, professional codes, standards, and Valley Water specifications. Ideal Skills and Abilities:
Required License or Certificate Professional Engineer (PE) License issued by the State of California is required.Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
