The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites applications for two Assistant Professor of Instruction positions in Bioengineering and/or Biomedical Engineering. Two positions are open - one with a focus on teaching bioinstrumentation courses and one with a focus on teaching biomechanics and anatomy & physiology. The majority of courses taught be at the undergraduate level, but a graduate course may be included. Appointments carry no guarantee or expectation of renewal or tenure. Duties include: (1) Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate level lectures and/or undergraduate labs using existing course materials as a guide and template; (2) Teach a diverse student population; (3) Compile and submit assessment data per departmental procedures; (4) Participate in course and instructor evaluations; (5) May work with one or more TAs; (6) Collaborate with other faculty in the department on course materials and instruction; (7) Other service duties as assigned.
The Department of Bioengineering at UT Dallas celebrates its 10 year anniversary in 2020. The department offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering with a total enrollment over 700 students. UT Dallas is situated in Richardson, TX, one of the most attractive suburbs in the Dallas metropolitan area. The university sits in close proximity to the telecom corridor, home to several hundred high-technology companies.
A PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field with a biomedical engineering focus is required. At least two years of teaching experience at the college or university level in biomedical engineering or related STEM field. Teaching experience in the areas of bioinstrumentation or biomechanics/anatomy & physiology is preferred.
