Leads projects from design through implementation by effectively organizing, planning, delegating, coordinating and directing activities within the scope of functional specialization.
This role will support the management of the R&D experimental work for the breakthrough smelting project management, resource planning, program execution and delivery.
Major activities/Key challenges
Coordinates activities related to projects within ceramic processing, including powder mixing, milling, spray drying, pressing, machining, firing and quality control. Provide technical direction to technicians and support personnel on all equipment, instrumentation, products and/or processes.
Responsible for the quality of work performed by others. Assignments involve initiating, designing, developing, testing, and installing equipment for projects or programs.
Performs internal / external literature searches on ceramic processing.
Capable of performing innovative work.
Uses computer tools to analyze data with MS products, JMP and SQL databases.
Produces reports and makes presentation to audiences within and outside of ATC.
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
Technical expert in ceramic processing.
Strong and effective communicator.
Leads and guides technicians and operators to complete ceramic processing related activities.
Responsible for determining, implementing and auditing procedures.
Receives some functional supervision of information on scientific theory and principles from supervisor or technical experts.
Manufacturing business unit partners
Materials development and production managers
Basic or Minimum Qualifications
Associate of Science with 5 years of work experience in ceramics, chemical or material processing
In lieu of a degree 8 years of work experience in ceramic, chemical or material processing
Expert in providing written documentation
Effective presentation skills
Experienced in ceramic operations
Independently conducts and directs experiments
Demonstrated ability to physically perform work in laboratory and industrial environments
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
Ability to work with resources within and outside the program team to accomplish the work required
Strong organization and analytical skills for data management, analysis, and results presentation
